Our life with an extra chromosome....

Still here!

Hi!
I'm still here.

It seems that once you get your house painted it remains in that upturned state for a few weeks. Things are still finding their way back to where they belong. And so it turns out that painting was a much bigger task than I had imagined. Along with putting the house back together we had appointments not one, not two, not three days but ALL five days last week!

Whew!

And Griffin is going through something. We are having lots of fits, and screams, lots of clinginess, and lots of needed attention from mama.

I am paying close attention to him and trying to figure out what it is that he is going through and what is spurring this change. Is it because I am too focused on putting the house back together and he can sense it? Is it because he can't communicate yet what he wants and doesn't want with words yet? Is it part of a little boy being a 2 year old? Is he bored? Is he stimulated enough? Is his brain working on walking?

I think it may be a combination of some of those. In the couple of months preceding his start to crawling he got very irritable and bored it seemed like. So maybe this is him on the verge of walking? The next step in discovery for him?

We will see :)

So we are still here, just short on time, at the moment. So blog posts will be sparse.

Here are some pictures I took this week.

Bye, bye bottles. Bitter sweet. Bye bye baby. Growing up. One step away from total dependence on mama. As exhausting as that can be. I know a part of me will always long for it in a way.

Crashing after a long day shopping for a book shelf since ours broke during the moving of it to paint.

Making pesto! With a bunch of fresh basil from our CSA! My first time ever!

Nap hair!

More play silky fun!

Clapping that it fell down on him!

Catching a sweet moment.

No joke, this is what I came home to from my zumba class!

Could this be a sign that I let him watch to much TV? He hands me the remote and signs more, he clings to the remote a lot. Oh no, exactly what I said would never be. There will hopefully come a time when I tackle that battle.

Quite a bit of this lately :)

Helping daddy with yard work, sort of :)

My master yogi in training :)

And last but not least my two good morning cuties <3

Oh, till next time. Love you all.

hey friend who id a weirdo too!!! woohoo!! i love the photos of griffin and his daddy. my son didn't walk till he was two! he has mild cp, and that has delayed him in every area. what is griff's delay caused by? if this is too personal, i understand. i only just became able to say my son has cerebral palsy outloud to people who weren't doctors or teachers this past year. wow. i feel nervous saying this, like it might be too much for a blog comment, but that's me. extreme and daring weirdo. love your comments to me. thanks so much for taking the time and relating! it feels so good to relate, yeah?

yeah! I love your blog. In all of it you are so warm. Not to much at all here for me. Griffin has Down syndrome and is 2 1/2. He isn't walking yet but he is pulling up to stand quiet a bit and climbing a lot. :) :) thank you for commenting!
