Ok so one of my favorite post's to read are the ones where mama's put up cute little sayings and things their kiddos do. And I always think I have got to do more of those, and then I can never remember what it was I wanted to share when I actually come to the computer...
But!
Alas!
This time I remember!
3 things!
1. About a month ago we took Griffin to the Instructional Center for the public school district we are zoned for, to do some testing as protocol for transitioning him into PPCD ( a public school preschool program, that we are opting out of right now). So here he sat at a very big table, in daddy's lap, me across from him, and the "tester" on his right. And the cutest thing was, on so many of the little skills tests she would ask him to do, he would push whatever it was she had sat in front of him away, and back towards her, and then look up with a smile. A little stinker, I loved it, because I get oh so tired of all of these skills tests. And then on the few that he did comply to, he would look at her and clap and keep on seeking eye contact until she would clap too.
2. Here we are taking another skills test, at The Down Syndrome Clinic, and this one is a puzzle. She hands him a circle and asks him to place it in the right place. He does it once, and shoots his face up at hers, smiling and clapping, wanting smiles and claps from all. Then she turns the puzzle upside down, so now the circle is on the opposite side, and she asks him to do it again. Only this time he take the circle puzzle piece and slams in down, right in the center of the puzzle, on top of the triangle slot, and then proceeds to shoot his little face up to hers, full of smiles and clapping. And when the room doesn't follow suit, a heart breaking frown breaks out. What a sweet, sweet little 3 year old, wanting approval.
3. And last. I usually take Griffin up to the gym with me on Wednesday nights while I take pilates. And often I bring him into the classroom in the beginning and end of the class because he likes the big room, with lots of mirrors and balls. My wonderful and awesome pilates teacher was being so sweet playing with Griffin that he actually started showing off. He was trying to stand for a really , really long time. And he kept on standing up with the big exercise ball, and then pushing it hard, away from himself, to where he made himself go splat on the ground. He just kept doing this over and over again. Not upset at all by the splat. It was precious to watch him love the attention he was getting and to seek more of it.
Well that is all! Hope it made you smile!
