We had our ENT appt yesterday and we are mostly cleared through her.
We found out that....
His ears look good.
All of the ear infections we had last year actually weren't that bad and pretty typical.
And there are no signs of tonsilitis,
BUT tonsils are measured for their size on a scale of 1- 4, and Griffin's are a size 3. So pretty big. Combine that with low muscle tone, and a smaller mouth and throat, then a size 3 could give him trouble breathing in his sleep (aka sleep apnea) and it may help explain some of his struggle with swallowing.
You wouldn't remove them until he is over the age of three.
And we are calling his cardiologist and pediatrician to see if they think we should do a sleep study to further investigate possible sleep apnea.
The ENT was very kind and it was a feel good visit. Yay!
And sadly, lately there hasn't been very much play that Griffin enjoys doing, so I loved when I found something he liked :)

Playing with the water hose!

He would go from spraying here.....

to there.

Back and forth, back and forth, so intrigued.

These were taken with this neat app. for the iphone that makes the pictures have all of these cool effects on them. So fun :)

Oh, and he is loving bubbles :)

I came home the other day, and as I rounded the corner of our street and approached our house, I saw in our front lawn Matthew and a sleeping Griffin.

And I always love it when he falls asleep for nap in our bed, so I snapped this sweet photo.
And for our anniversarry a few weeks ago me and Matt drove....

down many roads looking like this

to arrive at this sweet farm house

where our wonderful friends invited us to stay the night!
Oh it was dreamy, and it was surreal.
Matt busted out his best style....(hehe)

The boys fished, the girls talked, we drove through fields of wild sage (oh the smell!), we admired grazing cows, and beautiful horses, we played games, we cooked meals, we listened to music. It was good, and the perfect way to celebrate our wedding day past.

There the boys are fishing.
And if this is not the most random-all-strung-together post, but who cares, right?
So I have recently become obsessed with succulents....
and this is how it all started....

First I created this new space, and I thought oh wouldn't a plant of some sort look good on the right side of the mantel.
So that Saturday at our local Farmer's Market, I visited a both filled with plants to see if maybe they had something that would fit.
They had bunches of orchids, which I will probably buy soon enough to go there, but on that day I was drawn to these funky little plants called succulents. He only had a couple of different kinds, but I bought one to go on my window sill.

Oh I love them! And then I found this super cool shop on etsy. I had no idea the things you could do with them!

On to the next thing....I finally am mostly caught up on putting together Griffin's yearly photo albums, and making his yearly photo books. I made his first year photo book on time and ordered everything to put the photo album together, some how it just never got done on time.
I love the process of putting an actual photo album together. Of actually having the hard copies of photos in my hand, having to go through them all to keep narrowing down to the ones that will make the cut to go into the album. I love picking out the album, I love feeling and smelling the pages. I love reliving all the times and memories we had. I am someone that can't stand to read magazines or books online. My senses feel so left out when I do something like that, so in the same sense that is probably why I adore so much putting together actual photo albums. I just think it would be tragic to not have hard copies of photos that are all worn down in the future like my mama has.
And finally a favorite photo of mine....rubber boots I got while at our friend's farm house and my baby!
